Artificial turf field guide
A practical guide to turf odor
Artificial turf odor is easier to address when you start at the source: clear waste and debris, inspect drainage, then apply Turf Magik at 4 oz per 25 sq ft and water heavily.
01 · Find it
Start with the odor source
Artificial turf can hold waste and debris around the fibers and below the visible surface. Pick up solid waste, clear loose material, and identify where odor is most noticeable before applying a product.
02 · Inspect it
Check the whole area
Look for trapped debris, blocked drainage, and spots that stay wet longer than the surrounding turf. Maintenance or drainage issues should be addressed directly as issues of their own.
03 · Treat it
Prep, sprinkle, and water
Once the area is clear, sprinkle Turf Magik evenly at 4 oz per 25 sq ft, then water heavily to saturate the area. Stronger odor or heavily soiled areas may require additional product.
04 · Learn from it
Track where odor returns
Notice whether odor returns in one repeat location or across the whole space. That pattern can point you back to missed debris, a high-use area, or a maintenance issue that needs attention.
